Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Community Engagement & Admissions Officer to lead and support efforts in community building as well as student admissions. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to be at the intersection of social impact, education, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate will build strong ties with the local community, support families through the admissions journey, and ensure that prospective students find their place at Shikha Academy.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Build meaningful relationships with parents, local leaders, social workers, NGOs, and community partners.
- Design and run awareness campaigns and events in the community to promote the academy's mission and programs.
- Facilitate workshops, home visits, and school open houses to inform and inspire prospective families.
- Represent Shikha Academy at local events and build goodwill within the neighborhood and beyond.
- Create outreach materials—flyers, posters, WhatsApp messages, presentations—that speak to the needs of the community.
Admissions & Onboarding
- Serve as the first point of contact for families interested in enrolling at Shikha Academy.
- Guide parents through the end-to-end admissions process—form filling, interviews, document collection, financial aid, etc.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Academic, Admin, Finance) to ensure a smooth and supportive onboarding experience for students and parents.
- Maintain accurate admissions records and track leads, applications, and enrolment conversions.
- Assist in setting annual admissions goals and strategies based on school capacity and community trends.
- Follow up with inquiries and leads through calls, meetings, and community visits.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide regular reports on outreach and admissions progress to leadership.
- Keep a pulse on community needs and provide feedback to help improve school programs.
- Collaborate with the school's communications and academic teams for effective messaging and alignment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Communications, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in community-facing roles, preferably within education or nonprofits.
- Strong communication and people skills; ability to empathize, listen, and explain processes clearly.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi is essential.
- Familiarity with educational systems and community specific challenges is a strong plus.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and confident with basic tech tools (Google Sheets, forms, WhatsApp, etc.)
