Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) based in Mumbai. The CHRO will lead the entire HR function, focusing on organizational building, talent strategy, performance systems, and culture development.

This role requires a builder mindset—someone who can create systems, scale teams, and align people strategy directly with aggressive business growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:

Organizational Building & Structure

  • Design and implement a scalable organizational structure across all functions
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting hierarchies
  • Build strong leadership layers and succession pipelines

Talent Talent Acquisition & Workforce Strategy

  • Lead hiring strategy across all levels - from execution to leadership roles
  • Build a high-quality talent pipeline focused on performance-driven individuals
  • Ensure hiring aligns with company vision, culture, and growth plans

Performance & Culture Development

  • Implement KPI/KRA-driven performance management systems
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and measurable results
  • Strengthen employee engagement while maintaining high performance standards

Leadership Development

  • Identify and groom future leaders within the organization
  • Build strong mid-level and senior management capabilities
  • Establish structured learning and development programs

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR operations including payroll, policies, and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and HR best practices
  • Build efficient, scalable HR systems and processes

Employee Relations & Retention

  • Foster a positive, performance-oriented work environment
  • Manage employee relations and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Develop strategies to retain top-performing talent

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Human Resources principles and practices
  • Strong experience in HR policy development and implementation
  • Proficiency in employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated success in talent management and succession planning
  • Hands-on experience with performance management systems
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience in beauty, retail, FMCG, or D2C industry preferred
