Job Description
The Cath Lab Nurse delivers specialized nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. They assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular tests, ensure patient safety, perform hemodynamic monitoring, and provide recovery care to patients following procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, and pacemaker insertions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare, assess, and monitor patients before, during, and after cardiac procedures.
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Administer medications, including conscious sedation and IV contrast.
- Maintain and calibrate specialized cardiac equipment and monitors.
- Continuously assess vital signs, ECG rhythms, and hemodynamic data.
- Respond rapidly to cardiac or procedural emergencies.
- Ensure sterile field maintenance and assist as scrub or circulating nurse.
- Provide patient and family education pre- and post-procedure.
- Document care, medications, and procedural outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement, research, and continuing education initiatives.

- Current and valid Karnataka State RN license (state-specific or compact).

- Experience:
- Minimum 2-5 years of Critical Care or Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
