Role Overview
We are seeking a highly confident and result-oriented Business Development Manager with prior experience in the EdTech industry. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication and presentation skills, strong relationship-building capabilities, and a proven track record of generating business opportunities and closing deals within the education sector.
This role requires an individual who is comfortable with lead generation, client acquisition, school outreach, presentations, negotiations, and frequent travel across India.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate qualified leads through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, referrals, and market research.
- Identify and engage with decision-makers including School Directors, Principals, Trustees, Academic Heads, and Management Teams.
- Schedule and conduct meetings with prospective clients across India.
- Deliver impactful presentations and product/service demonstrations to educational institutions.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurately track activities through CRM tools.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with schools and institutional partners.
- Conduct market mapping and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and convert opportunities into successful partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and client satisfaction.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 2–6 years of Business Development or B2B Sales experience in the EdTech industry.
- Proven experience in selling products or services to schools, educational institutions, or academic stakeholders.
- Strong lead generation and prospecting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Strong networking and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable conducting cold calls and initiating business conversations.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM platforms, email automation tools, and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, or related disciplines preferred.
- Candidates from reputed Tier-1 or Tier-2 colleges/universities will be preferred.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Existing network within schools and educational institutions will be an added advantage.
