Space of Joy is a premium surface art and home dcor brand based in Mumbai, specializing in custom

wallpapers, wall murals, canvas art, backlit panels, and personalized dcor solutions. The company works

with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and commercial spaces to transform interiors into visually

inspiring environments.

Role Overview

We are looking for a result-oriented and design-sensitive Business Development Manager who can

drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, architect & interior designer outreach, B2B tie-ups,

and direct client acquisition.

This role requires a strong understanding of interior dcor, relationship-building skills, and consultative

selling ability for customized design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across residential, commercial, and institutionalsegments.
  • Research new markets, growth areas, industry trends, partnerships, and potential revenuechannels.
  • Develop strategic plans to expand market presence and drive sustainable growth.

2. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

  • Generate qualified leads through networking, cold outreach, referrals, exhibitions, and industryevents.
  • Identify and connect with key decision-makers including architects, interior designers, developers,and corporate clients.
  • Conduct client meetings (virtual and in-person) to present customized dcor and surface artsolutions.

3. Relationship Management & Consultative Selling

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients and channel partners.
  • Understand client requirements and propose tailored solutions aligned with their design visionand project needs.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and negotiate commercial terms to close deals effectively.

4. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Set business development objectives and execute structured action plans to achieve revenue

targets.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handovers and execution.
  • Identify operational improvements that enhance efficiency and client experience.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing on promotional strategies, campaigns, and brand positioning.
  • Liaise with finance, operations, warehousing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless projectdelivery.
  • Ensure internal alignment and readiness to support growth initiatives.

6. Industry Presence & Continuous Learning

  • Represent the company at exhibitions, trade fairs, seminars, and networking events.
  • Stay updated on dcor trends, materials, innovations, and competitive developments.

Required Skills & Competencies

36 years of experience in Business Development / Sales (preferably in home dcor, interiors,

real estate, or luxury retail)

Strong network with architects, interior designers, contractors, or developers (preferred)

Proven experience in B2B & project-based selling

Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills

Ability to understand client requirements and offer customized solutions

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

Target-driven with high ownership and accountability

Basic understanding of interior aesthetics, materials, and dcor trends
