Role Overview:

We are seeking a technically strong and product-driven Business Analyst with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a product-based software environment. This role goes beyond traditional documentation. The ideal candidate will translate product vision and business needs into technically sound, implementation-ready requirements while actively contributing to product innovation, competitor analysis, and system integration discussions.

The candidate must be capable of engaging in technical conversations with engineering teams, understanding software architecture fundamentals, and supporting device and third-party integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Requirement Ownership

  • Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and product requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain BRDs, user stories, use cases, workflows, and functional specifications.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and technically feasible before sprint planning.
  • Identify edge cases, dependencies, and potential risks proactively.
  • Perform gap analysis between current and future product states.
  • Minimize rework by driving requirement clarity and structured documentation.

Technical & Integration Documentation

  • Understand the software development lifecycle and technology stack.
  • Participate in architectural and technical discussions with engineering teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including:
  • API specifications
  • Integration requirements
  • Data flow diagrams
  • Device integration workflows
  • Support third-party system integrations and hardware/software integration requirements.
  • Contribute to technology evaluation discussions and understand the rationale behind technology choices.

Product Strategy & Feature Enhancement

  • Work closely with Product Managers to refine and prioritize features.
  • Contribute to roadmap discussions with structured analysis.
  • Proactively suggest new features based on:
  • Customer feedback
  • Usage data
  • Market trends
  • Identified product gaps
  • Improve user journeys and overall product usability.

Competitor & Market Analysis

  • Conduct structured competitor research and feature benchmarking.
  • Compare workflows, UX patterns, and functional capabilities.
  • Prepare comparative reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Identify differentiation opportunities and strategic improvements.

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Translate business requirements into technical clarity.
  • Communicate priorities, scope, risks, and impact of change requests.
  • Ensure alignment across Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams.

Testing & Validation

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Assist QA teams with requirement clarifications.
  • Track defects, change requests, and requirement updates to closure.
  • Ensure delivered features align with business expectations.

Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze product performance metrics and feature adoption data.
  • Prepare reports and insights to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Continuously improve BA documentation standards and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software company.
  • Experience working in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Software development lifecycle
  • API integrations
  • Database concepts
  • System architecture fundamentals
  • Device or third-party system integrations
  • Experience creating both functional and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and basic SQL is preferred.

Analytical & Communication Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to structure complex requirements clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in technology product development.
