Art Assistant - Production Sets & Shoot Support

Role Overview

We are looking for an Art Assistant to support the Set Designer / Art Director in executing shoot setups for short-form and social media video content. This is a junior role ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience or strong internship exposure in set design, props, shoot styling or production support.

The Art Assistant will work closely with the Set Designer / Art Director and help with sourcing, arranging, setting up and managing all art-related requirements for shoots.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Set Designer / Art Director in setting up shoot environments and production sets.
• Help source props, decor, furniture, fabrics and styling materials required for shoots.
• Coordinate with vendors, local markets, prop houses and rental suppliers.
• Arrange and organise props, decor and materials before and during shoots.
• Support in installation and dismantling of sets.
• Ensure all required art materials are available on shoot day.
• Maintain inventory and organise reusable props and materials.
• Travel for sourcing and last-minute purchases whenever required.
• Assist in preparing mood boards, references and shoot setup plans.
• Ensure shoot spaces remain clean, organised and visually ready.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong interest in production design, props, decor and set creation.
• Good understanding of styling, colours, props and visual aesthetics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shoot environment.
• Highly organised, dependable and proactive.
• Comfortable with field work, sourcing and handling multiple tasks.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work on shoot days and flexible timings when required.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years of experience or internship in set design, production, events, styling or art department.
• Experience assisting on shoots, events, content production or social media campaigns.
• Familiarity with local sourcing markets, prop houses and vendors in Mumbai is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Interior Design, Production Design or related field.
• Basic portfolio or photographs of any previous set, styling or art-related work is preferred.
