We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to oversee and drive sales operations in India. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales success, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to develop effective strategies to increase market share.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the assigned area.
- Manage and lead a team of sales executives, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Identify potential customers and business opportunities to expand market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the region.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and decisions.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and budgets to upper management.
- Conduct regular training sessions for the sales team to enhance product knowledge and selling techniques.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in sales, preferably in a managerial role within the FMCG or consumer goods sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively motivate and drive performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting and analysis tools, as well as CRM software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high performance.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills to secure deals and contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
