Job Description Workday Functional Consultant
Role Overview
We are seeking a Workday Functional Consultant (Tier 2) to provide additional build capacity across Workday functional domains. The role focuses on lower-complexity configuration and enhancements, requiring minimal oversight, while partnering closely with Tier-1 teams. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Workday configuration experience with solid fundamentals across HCM, Time & Absence, and/or Payroll.
Independently handle low-to-medium complexity Workday functional builds with minimal supervision
Configure Workday modules to align with defined business processes and workflows
Support data management and tenant activities, including data migration and validation
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements using standard Workday capabilities
Analyze incorrect transactions and provide recommendations to Tier-1 teams for resolution
Create and maintain reports, calculated fields, and security configurations
Support ongoing post-production issues and functional enhancements
Hands-on Workday Functional experience (3+ years preferred)
Strong understanding of Workday HCM fundamentals, including:
oBusiness Process Framework
oReporting & Calculated Fields
oSecurity & Notifications
Hands-on experience with EIBs (Inbound & Outbound)
Ability to work independently in a Tier-2 / AMS / Support model
Experience supporting global HR users and stakeholders
Hands-on configuration experience in one or more of the following:

Strong experience with:

Workday Technical Consultant Job Description
Responsibilities
- Ownership of the hire-to-retire lifecycle in Workday, managing and overseeing the entire lifecycle from hiring to
retirement.
- Plan and lead cross-functional efforts to drive Workday product launches.
- Continuously elevate the employee experience and optimize interactions with Workday.
- Represent the Workday platform across the landscape of HR applications.
- Partner with business leaders and People Engineering teams to align on objectives and programs.
- Lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday functionality.
Core Responsibilities (Must Have)
- Design and develop integrations using Workday tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, and primarily Workday
Studio.
- Utilize XSLT (including XSLT 3.0) to transform XML data between Workday and external systems.
- Perform document and data transformations from Workday formats to flat files or other system formats.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support for integration issues ensuring data accuracy and stability.
- Configure security groups and policies for integrations and participate in bi-annual Workday releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience implementing or managing Workday solutions.
- 4+ years of experience configuring Workday HCM with strong technical integration exposure.
- 2+ years of experience supporting other Workday modules such as Recruiting, Compensation, Talent,
Performance, or Learning.
- Deep HR domain expertise with the ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
- Ability to thrive in complex and technically ambiguous environments.
