G5 - Windows Server Administrator (Intermediate L1 / Junior L2)

Role Summary

G5 admins provide advanced first‑level troubleshooting and handle moderately complex issues across Windows servers, AD, and core infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot OS-level issues:
• Service dependencies failures
• OS performance degradation
• Log analysis using Event Viewer
• Perform user/group management in Active Directory.
• Manage access permissions using NTFS and share permissions.
• Troubleshoot DNS/DHCP issues at L1 depth.
• Support patching cycles (pre-checks, post-validation, failure reporting).
• Coordinate with backup teams for restore requests (files/folders).
• Troubleshoot RDP issues, login failures, profile corruption.
• Perform basic PowerShell commands for routine checks (non-destructive).
• Mentor and guide G4 resources in ticket handling and troubleshooting quality.

Skills Required

• 1-3 years Windows Admin/NOC experience.
• Good understanding of AD, GPO basics, Windows services, and networking basics.
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) basics.
