Vice President – Technology & Engineering

Role Summary
DreamFolks is seeking a visionary and execution-driven VP – Technology & Engineering to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of our B2C and B2B platforms, along with enterprise IT operations.
You will own the end-to-end technology strategy, driving innovation across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, Generative AI/LLMs, and enterprise IT (including Deskside support), ensuring systems are secure, scalable, high-performing, and cost-efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technology vision and roadmap aligned with business and revenue goals
- Lead architecture across mobile apps, web platforms, backend systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Drive development of consumer (B2C) and enterprise (B2B) platforms and integrations
- Build and scale systems using microservices and event-driven architectures
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization
- Lead adoption of Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-driven automation across products and operations, and Developer Workflows
- Oversee DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and release engineering
- Establish strong engineering standards, SDLC processes, and code quality practices
- Build data platforms and BI capabilities for real-time and strategic decision-making
- Lead enterprise IT operations, including Deskside (end-user) support, ensuring:
- High-quality IT support experience across offices
- Efficient device, network, and access management
- Strong IT service management (ITSM) processes and SLAs
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Finance, Operations, and Partnerships
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering and IT organization
Core Expertise
Technology & Architecture
- Distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures
- Cloud platforms: AWS (primary), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), Azure (good to have)
- API-first platforms, system integrations, and high-scale architectures
AI & Emerging Technologies
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-powered product features
- Exposure to platforms like Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar ecosystems
- Use cases: automation, personalization, analytics, intelligent workflows
Programming & Development
- Strong understanding of modern stacks, including: PHP (Laravel), Java, Python, Node.js, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Data & Systems
- Databases: MySQL, NoSQL systems
- BI tools: QuickSight / Metabase / equivalent
Security, Compliance & Finance Domain
- Strong understanding of financial systems, payments, and high-volume transaction platforms
- Experience with compliance frameworks:
- PCI-DSS
- ISO 27001
- SOC 1 & SOC 2
- DPDP Act (India)
- PDPA (SEA regions)
- GDPR (EU)
- Expertise in secure architecture, data privacy, audits, and risk management
Leadership & Execution
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale technology programs on time and within budget
- Strong experience in team building, hiring, mentoring, and performance management
- Ability to lead both engineering teams and enterprise IT/support functions
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments
Experience Required
- 15+ years in technology roles, with 5+ years in senior leadership (VP level)
- Proven experience building and scaling B2C and B2B platforms
- Experience in fintech, travel, loyalty, or high-transaction ecosystems preferred
