Vice President - Tech ( Risk )

About the role:There is this team within the company that is responsible for building Risk management solutions, including fraud prevention, AML prevention and also compliance and operations related risk. This risk team believes what we do has to be done with pride and honestly, have kept the bar higher for all folks on the team too. Time and again, we solve problems across the company even outside of our domain using a ton of automation - just because it needed to be done. We are seeking a leader for the engineering folk in this team. Our current leader is well, just as amazing but has decided to look after more important things and as much as we love them, there are sure more important things they must address and we respect that.

Responsibilities:

Youd be responsible for building a mission-critical system that keeps frauds in check across all kinds of activity across the company.

We carry a very low threshold for failures due to the nature of the job.

Hope you have built systems like this and understand the value of both the technology and the processes required to get there.

We have a mission to make what we build useful for multiple teams within our organization, and also beyond (there are already some deployments outside the organization - and will continue to grow).

People within your engineering team should be able to look up to you to chart the roadmap and triage tech priorities against the others.

Balance latency, throughput, cost and timelines all in a day's work. Above all, build stuff that makes you and your team proud.

Superpowers/Skills that will help you succeed in this role:

A good amount of experience building large scale systems while leading a team would help a lot coming into this role.

Some believe it takes 15 years to get there, but weve known a few who may take much less time to get there. Being curious is a fundamental advantage in this job.
