Job Purpose

The Vice President – GCC India & ETO is a senior enterprise leader responsible for defining and executing the GCC India strategy to drive scalable, high-quality value delivery for the enterprise. Operating as the site leader, this role is responsible for (along with functions) overall performance, productivity, talent strategy, financial outcomes, and risk/compliance across a multi-functional delivery organization present in India and operating in a global matrix environment.

This role will institutionalize a robust operating model, embed risk and governance frameworks, optimize cost and service performance, and ensure the GCC is positioned as a strategic, compliant and scalable extension of the global enterprise. This role will also be a conduit between functions and GCC India to help deliver best in class, next generational operations delivery and mature functional plans as part of the location strategy and lead end-to-end delivery.

You will also lead the Enterprise Transformation Office team based in India, supporting a cross‑functional portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives across the enterprise. You will ensure the portfolio is tightly aligned to business priorities, optimize allocation of resources and capabilities, and establish governance, prioritization and performance frameworks to maximize measurable benefits. Working closely with senior leadership, business owners and delivery teams, you will drive portfolio decision‑making, risk management and benefits realization across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Enterprise & Site Leadership

  • Act as Site Leader for GCC India with responsible for along with functions accountability for value delivery, operational performance, risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Define the GCC India priorities, strategy, operating model, service catalog and roadmap in partnership with enterprise leaders translating GSK priorities into measurable actions
  • Ensure strong alignment between enterprise function leaders and India site leadership, ensuring attainment of enterprise outcomes

Talent & Culture

  • Build and lead a high-performing, matrixed functional leadership team
  • Own the overall workforce strategy for the site including hiring, capability building and leadership development in alignment with global talent philosophy and practices
  • Champion the GSK culture and an enterprise-first mindset, ensuring teams operate as an integrated extension of global functions
  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging employee experience, driving wellbeing, development, and high-performance culture site-wide

Operational Excellence & Value Realization

  • Establish clear SLAs, KPIs and value realization metrics for the GCC India site
  • Drive operational rigor through standardized performance management and quality frameworks
  • Own GCC India P&L including budget planning, cost optimization, workforce planning and investment case validation
  • Drive continuous improvement and productivity while safeguarding quality and compliance

Governance, Risk and Compliance

  • Design and institutionalize best-in-class governance framework covering operational risk, financial controls, information security and privacy, regulatory compliance and third-party risk
  • Partner with HR, legal, compliance, security and audit teams to maintain strong internal controls and proactively manage risk exposure
  • Ensure all operations meet GSK standards for compliance, regulatory requirements, and data privacy and security standards
  • Oversee business continuity planning and crisis response protocols for the site
  • Establish a robust third-party/vendor governance framework including contract oversight, performance tracking and compliance monitoring
  • Maintain executive visibility of risk heatmaps and mitigation plans through structured governance forums

Capability Expansion & Transition

  • Partner with function heads (e.g. Commercial, Medical, R&D, Supply Chain, Global Functions etc) to review existing activity footprints and identify high-impact opportunities for GCC
  • Benchmark current GCC/Hub penetration against best-in-class peers and set realistic but ambitious goals
  • Partner with Functional leads in development of robust, investable business cases as part of the location strategy for migration initiatives including cost-benefit, transition costs, operating model, organizational change and compliance
  • Act as a facilitator for multi-function migration projects, establishing clear governance, milestones, resourcing plans and RACI functions within the site functions
  • Advise functional leaders in defining target operating models for migrated activities and work with HR and site leadership on workforce planning, local hiring, onboarding, knowledge transfer and culture integration

Integration with Digital & Automation

  • Work closely with Digital and AI and Process Excellence teams to simplify how work is done and identify automation-first opportunities in tandem with footprint moves. This will help drive the most optimal outcomes for the functions
  • Ensure automation and process design are embedded into target operating models to maximize efficiency gains and reduce headcount risk

Stakeholder Feedback and Management

  • Design and own an integrated stakeholder engagement and feedback framework to proactively manage executive relationships, act as a trusted advisor to influence, secure alignment, sponsorship and rapid decision making
  • Establish regular governance forums such as Executive Steering Committee, GCC LT meeting etc

Enterprise Transformation office team

  • Lead the development and implementation of functional strategies that align with GSK's overall business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on portfolio prioritization and
  • Ensure Business value is created as per the respective transformation agenda
  • Work closely with enterprise teams including R&D, Digital & Tech, Commercial, Global Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Procurement etc. to create awareness and opportunity for the ETO teams, establishing the ETO as the go-to team for business transformation.

Experience And Skills


Required:

  • Proven experience in GCC or shared services strategy, operations, or transformation with progressive leadership responsibility; experience leading multi-function global footprint change preferred
  • Strong program and project management capability with experience running complex, cross-functional, multi-country transitions and builds
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering with Digital/Automation teams to embed automation and transform operating models
  • Strong operational leadership experience managing SLAs, KPIs, risk mitigation and value delivery
  • Deep experience establishing governance frameworks, internal controls and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated industry
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level.
  • Knowledge of compliance, data protection, tax and labor considerations relevant to global transitions and outsourcing.
  • Analytical, pragmatic and delivery-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating in matrix environments
