Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Review
Review & Preparation Federal corporate tax returns (standalone and consolidated) and informational forms required by the IRS.
Review & Preparation workpapers for Taxable Income calculations for Federal, State, and international entities including CFCs.
Review & Preparation international tax filings such as Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 926, and other foreign reporting forms.
Review & Preparation fixed asset workpapers, depreciation schedules, and gain/loss calculations (Forms 4562 and 4797).
Review & Preparation workpapers related to extensions, estimated tax payments, and tax provisions.
Review & Preparation tax returns prepared by staff and provide recommendations on accuracy and tax-saving opportunities.
Assist team members with e-filing processes including XML review and validation.
Engagement Management
Manage client engagements from planning to completion, including scoping, execution, review, and delivery.
Monitor engagement budgets, track profitability, and ensure timely completion of projects.
Manage workflow, allocate resources, and coordinate across teams.
Support Engagement Managers with proposals, pursuits, documentation, and engagement reporting.
Team Leadership & Training
Supervise, train, mentor, and coach staff and new joiners.
Oversee performance reviews, development discussions, and capability-building.
Provide technical tax training on corporate, state, and international tax concepts.
Promote continuous learning and ensure team members participate in firm-provided trainings.
Client Interaction & Advisory
Act as a primary point of contact for clients on tax matters.
Proactively gather information, resolve tax issues, and address client concerns.
Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement and tax savings.
Build strong client relationships to support engagement success.
Technology & Tools
Proficient in CCH Access and other tax compliance software.
Familiarity with workflow management tools like Canopy, Karbon, or Axcess Workflow is a plus.
Commitment to continuous improvement in technology and automation tools.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
CPA, EA, CA/CA Inter, or Master's in Taxation (Preferred)
Experience Requirements
Minimum 710 years of relevant U.S. Tax experience.
Experience in both public accounting and corporate tax environments preferred.
Strong understanding of Federal, State, and Local Corporate Tax compliance.
Exposure to International Tax concepts is preferred.
