Role Description
- The University Application Mentor (Online) is a part-time, fully remote role. Mentors will work directly with students, providing personalized guidance on creating compelling application materials, including essays and resumes. Mentors will brainstorm and critique application essays to help finalize content, structure, language and grammar. Mentors will ensure students individual strengths and experiences are effectively highlighted in their applications.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in essay crafting and resume preparation
- Proficiency in mentorship, coaching, and providing constructive feedback
- Familiarity with the US and UK college and graduate school application processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment
- Multicultural competence and ability to work effectively with international students
Hours/Commitment;
- There is no hard-weekly commitment, but as required, we have seen mentors usually commit up to 5 hours/week on average when they are actively working with customers
- Mentors can increase or decrease their commitment over time
