Job Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on Test Automation Engineer to develop and execute automated test frameworks for high-performance automotive electronics systems. The role involves writing test specifications from requirements, validating ECU functions, managing HIL setups (dSpace/ETAS/Vector), and ensuring robust hardware test coverage. You will collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams to build and stabilize automation jigs for production use. Strong expertise in Python/PyQT, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART), and schematic understanding is essential. This position requires a structured problem-solver with a bias for action and ownership from concept to production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and bring into production high performance electrical/electronics systems for use in automotive applications.
  • Development of user-friendly UI for use in engineering, production and/or service.
  • Responsible for understanding the system and writing Test Specifications from the requirements, Test automation, execution of Test automation framework and reporting test defects to ensure that hardware test coverage.
  • Responsible for understanding the existing HIL and testing systems and fix them whenever the problem occurs.
  • Responsible for Scripting/Programming with existing Libraries/Classes.
  • Test the test automation jigs in collaboration with hardware engineers and bring it up for reliable use.
  • Responsible for the Validation of ECU functions.
  • Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, PCB, quality, and manufacturing teams on a day-to-day basis to get it right the first time.
  • Responsible and own a part or complete firmware/software design from conceptualization to testing and production.
  • Prepare and keep up to date the documentation related to design and development, as well as effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Commitment and passion towards all things engineering, in general, and electronics & Embedded, in specific. Drive towards creating new ideas and bringing them to practice.
  • Strong work ethic, bias towards action, and readiness to be outside own's comfort zone.
  • Attitude of a systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Must have a good exposure on dSpace/ETAS/Vector HiL setups.
  • Must have a good exposure to Python/PyQT.
  • Adapt and integrate firmware and software with existing and new hardware test setups.
  • Should have Hands On experience in working with RobotFrame Works or Python or PyQT.
  • Should be very good at reading & understanding of schematics.
  • Strong background in more than one of the following: 1. Electronics engineering, 2. Embedded systems, 3. Communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C and/or Ethernet), 4. Coding languages: CAPL, Python, Embedded C.
  • Background in GUI development and evidence of working with hardware engineers.
  • B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc in Electronics Engineering + 2 -4 years of experience in test automation or relevant fields demonstrating the required skills.
