Role Description:

This is a full-time Technical Sales Engineer role based in Chennai, structured as a hybrid position that combines on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility. The Technical Sales Engineer will identify and develop new business opportunities, manage existing accounts, and promote Welding Alloys specialised welding and wear protection solutions to industrial clients. Typical responsibilities include conducting technical presentation, understanding customer applications, preparing and delivering technical proposals, and presenting value-based solutions that address wear, performance, and productivity challenges. The role involves providing pre- and post-sales technical support, coordinating product trials and demonstrations, and liaising with internal engineering, R&D, and service teams to ensure successful solution implementation. The Technical Sales Engineer will also prepare sales forecasts, maintain accurate CRM records, contribute to tender responses, and represent the company at customer meetings, seminars, and industry events.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Technical Sales and Sales skills, with a proven ability to build pipelines, close deals, and manage long sales cycles in an industrial or engineering environment.
  • Candidates should possess solid Sales Engineering and Technical Support capabilities, including the aptitude to understand customer processes, interpret technical specifications, and recommend appropriate welding and wear protection solutions.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in writing and in person. Speaking in Tamil language will an added advantage
  • Relevant bachelor or diploma engineering qualification (e.g., Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or related discipline) with 2-5 years ( maximum ) technical experience is mandatory ( Freshers please excuse)
  • Experience in heavy industry, mining, cement, steel, power, or similar sectors, and familiarity with welding manintenance & repair is desired.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, customer-focused approach, proficiency with CRM and MS Office tools, and readiness to travel within the region as required.
