Job Description:

The Offshore Technical Lead will act as the primary technical owner for offshore ETL and Reporting delivery, overseeing teams working on Databricks-based data pipelines, Power BI reporting, and React-based UI components. This role serves as the single point of contact (SPOC) for the onsite technical team, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery while maintaining production stability.

The candidate will be responsible for technical leadership, mentoring offshore resources, production monitoring, and proactive communication with both Business and Technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Act as the Technical Lead for offshore ETL and Reporting teams using Databricks, Power BI, and React
• Drive solution design and implementation for:
• Data ingestion, transformation, and aggregation pipelines on Databricks
• Analytical datasets and semantic models for Power BI
• UI integration and lightweight front-end components using React
• Review designs, code, and deployment artifacts to ensure adherence to architecture and best practices
• Ensure deliverables meet functional, performance, and non-functional requirements

Offshore Team Management & Mentoring

• Mentor and guide offshore developers, data engineers, and reporting analysts
• Track progress, and ensure on-time delivery across sprints/releases
• Raise risks, dependencies, and capacity concerns proactively
• Drive technical upskilling and enforce engineering standards across the team

Production Support & Monitoring

• Closely monitor production batches, scheduled jobs, and reporting refreshes
• Identify, triage, and report batch failures or data issues promptly
• Coordinate with onsite teams to resolve incidents within SLA
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive fixes

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Act as the primary offshore point of contact for the onsite technical team
• Provide clear status updates, issue reports, and delivery milestones
• Collaborate with Business, QA, and Platform teams to align on priorities and timelines
• Support UAT, releases, and post-production validation activities

Required Technical Skills

Core Skills (Must Have)

• Strong SQL expertise (complex joins, performance tuning, analytics queries)
• Databricks:
• Spark (PySpark preferred)
• DataFrames, Delta Lake, performance optimization
• Job orchestration and scheduling
• Python for data engineering, transformations, and automation
• Power BI:
• Dataset and semantic model design
• DAX fundamentals
• Report performance and refresh management

Front-End / UI Exposure

• Working knowledge of React
• Understanding of component-based UI design
• Ability to coordinate backend-to-UI data integration
• Experience collaborating with UI developers

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• CI/CD exposure for data and reporting pipelines
• Familiarity with DevOps, monitoring, and alerting tools
• Experience supporting regulatory, risk, or enterprise reporting platforms
