Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of IT support engineers or administrators focused on Windows and Microsoft applications. Conduct regular one-on-one performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop individual growth plans. Manage team schedules, workloads, and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Technical Expertise & Escalation Management: Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues related to Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Online/Server, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, etc.), and desktop environments. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • System Administration & Optimization: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows server infrastructure, Active Directory, and various Microsoft application environments. Ensure system stability, security, and performance optimization.
  • Project & Initiative Contribution: Participate in and lead technical projects related to system upgrades, migrations (e.g., on-prem to cloud), new application deployments, and infrastructure enhancements. Assist in solution design and implementation.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation: Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains within IT support workflows. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all Windows and Microsoft application environments adhere to security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices. Assist in implementing security patches and updates.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with Microsoft and other third-party vendors for support, licensing, and product information when necessary.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide regular reports on team performance, system health, and project status to management. Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
