Job Description

  • Manage a team of Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Lead Engineers to independently execute projects involving BMS/IBMS Control Systems.
  • Oversee hardware/software detail design, testing, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) with customers.
  • Execute projects as per the Project Management framework, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Review project inputs and tender specifications; provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Serve as the technical interface for customers; ensure alignment with project schedules, scope, and cost.
  • Prepare and participate in turnover meetings, project review meetings, and ensure documentation of technical queries and scope clarifications.
  • Identify potential technical risks/issues early and escalate them to Engineering Managers (EMs).
  • Monitor project defects and initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to maintain quality standards.
  • Lead the development of project work plans in collaboration with the team.
  • Monitor and control work scope against project plans and manage change control, risk, and opportunity identification.

Process & Quality

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in terms of quality, cost, and standardization.
  • Ensure common methods, tools, and processes from Process Owner Groups (POGs) are followed.
  • Review deliverables to ensure they meet project and quality standards.
  • Ensure first-level quality checks are performed by designers and second-level reviews are done using checklists, software testing, or lab testing.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and customer communications drafted by engineers.

Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare engineering estimates and review them with EMs.
  • Participate in weekly customer and Project Manager calls.
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly project status reports to Project Managers.
  • Handle workforce planning using SAP and other planning tools.

Domain Expertise

BMS – HVAC

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and BMS systems.
  • Experience in hardware/software engineering as per regional and customer-specific requirements.

IBMS – Fire, Security, and ELV Systems

  • Domain expertise in FAS, SACS, and ELV systems.
  • Proficient in engineering practices to meet both project and customer standards.

People Management

  • Provide direct supervision and issue resolution for team members.
  • Offer technical mentoring and oversee performance evaluation in collaboration with reporting managers.
  • Support career development planning and contribute to award nominations.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and a continuous improvement culture within the team.

Span of Control

  • Responsible for a team of 3–5 direct reports.

Qualifications

  • BE in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Mechanical Engineering
