About The Role
We're seeking a proactive and experienced System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team at BIG Language Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have 23 years of hands-on experience in system administration, with a strong understanding of Windows and Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and virtualization technologies. Qualifications
- 23 years of proven experience in system administration or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing.
- Basic scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash for automation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support non-technical users.
Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers to ensure high availability and security.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and implement Group Policy for user and device management.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Perform regular backups, patch management, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard organizational data.
- Support virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization.
- Provide Level 2 technical support to resolve complex IT issues and assist end-users.
- Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations and procedures.
- Assist with basic cloud administration tasks on AWS and Azure platforms to support hybrid infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT projects and upgrades.
