Job Description

As a Product Support Engineer, you will represent Client and communicate with corporate customers via telephone, written correspondence, or electronic service regarding technical/Product/Business complex problems in SQL products and manage relationships with those customers.

SQL DB & Cosmos DB Support Engineer - JD

Role requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 3-6 years of technical support, technical consulting experience
  • Experience with Azure SQLDB & CosmosDB is Mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage all customer communication with the appropriate level of etiquette, timeliness, and professionalism, whilst working towards achieving the KPI targets.
  • Experience working in a team environment, managing a diverse workload
  • Must have experience working in 24*7 shift in a ticket based support environment.
  • Flexible to work in different shifts including in Americas EST & PST hours
  • Willingness to work in Hybrid mode from office
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root causes and develop solutions.

  • Technical SkillsDeep understanding of Azure Cosmos DB fundamentals, including architecture, APIs (SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin, Table), and typical operational concerns.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies including MongoDB, MS SQL, and NoSQL concepts (partitioning, consistency, replication).
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL Services (including Managed Instance).
  • Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ingestion methods, ETL/ELT workflows, and streaming where relevant.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot big data production environments (on-premise and cloud).
  • Highly proficient in database Backup, Restore, Recovery, Linked servers reorganizing indexes & performing integrity checks
  • Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recoveries like Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Clustering.
  • Excellent understanding of Database concepts and deployments
  • Strong proficiency in diagnostic and monitoring tools, logs analysis, and performance tuning.

Desirable Skills:

  • Excellent Communication Skills Verbal, listening, and written (including technical writing).
  • Passion for technology, lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Microsoft certifications in Azure Cosmos DB / Azure Data Platform / MongoDB
  • Database & SQL Expertise (Good to Have)
  • Basic Networking, Storage and Platform troubleshooting skills.
  • Experienced in any of the programming languages: C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, python, Scala or Node.js.
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies is a plus, including public cloud like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Ali Cloud, etc. or private cloud like OpenStack
