Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager with strong expertise in
import and export operations along with end-to-end logistics management, especially in handling heavy equipment and machinery. The role involves managing international shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders for efficient and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import and export logistics operations, including international shipments and documentation
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and Customs House Agents (CHA)
- Handle documentation such as Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin (COO), shipping bills, etc.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, duties, export-import policies, and statutory requirements
- Plan and monitor transportation of heavy equipment from port to final destination (and vice versa for exports)
- Track shipments and ensure timely clearance, dispatch, and delivery
- Negotiate with logistics vendors to optimize freight, shipping, and transportation costs
- Oversee port handling, warehousing, and inland logistics operations
- Resolve issues related to shipment delays, damages, or clearance bottlenecks
- Maintain MIS reports and monitor logistics performance metrics
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and project teams for smooth execution
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in import and export operations & international logistics
- In-depth knowledge of customs clearance, EXIM documentation, and compliance
- Experience in handling heavy equipment or machinery logistics
- Vendor management and negotiation skills
- Strong coordination and communication abilities
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) and MS Excel
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- 8–9 years of experience with significant exposure to both import and export operations
- Experience in heavy equipment, engineering, or manufacturing industry preferred.
