About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Operations Lead for our Best Price Store in Kota. You will be responsible for driving store profitability, managing member engagement, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Member Engagement & Sales Growth
- Manage key member segments (Resellers, HoReCa, and O&I).
- Drive initiatives for Regular Buying Members and implement win-back strategies for irregular and lapsed members.
- Organise store-driven activities such as Bus Drives, Halla Bol campaigns, and tele-calling to increase footfall.
- Focus on member base expansion, development, and retention.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor critical KPIs, including stock/shelf availability for Top 1000 items and vendor service levels.
- Oversee documentation for all stock receipts and manage vendor returns.
- Control stock damages and shrinkage to protect margins.
- Analyse ageing stocks and execute timely liquidation plans.
- Operational Efficiency & Financial Control
- Track monthly P&L, focusing on improving sales, margins, and controllable costs.
- Implement EDLC (Every Day Low Cost) concepts by evaluating policies to minimise operational expenses.
- Manage store facilities (Electricity, DG sets, STP, RO plant, Freezers) and oversee all repairs and maintenance.
- Generate Other Income through scrap sales or space selling.
- Compliance & Administration
- Ensure timely sales cash/cheque deposits and manage third-party cash pickup teams.
- Maintain all necessary records for external audits and coordinate required business licenses.
- Manage local and government official relationships.
- Oversee housekeeping and loader schedules, including rostering and payroll.
- Team Leadership & Service Standards
- Maintain superior customer service standards and ensure smooth, fast checkout processes.
- Lead, delegate, and monitor direct reports against deadlines and quality measures.
- Conduct training and development sessions for all store associates.
- Foster a culture of multi-tasking, integrity, and ethics.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in FMCG or Retail operations is a must.
- Leadership: Strong team management and delegation skills.
- Analytical: Ability to interpret P&L statements and operational KPIs.
- Compliance: Knowledge of local licensing and audit documentation.
