Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer (7–10 years) with strong software development skills and deep knowledge of enterprise storage technologies. The role involves supporting and developing storage solutions across Fibre Channel, iSCSI, object storage, distributed storage, RAID/Erasure Coding, and file systems. The ideal candidate should have strong programming fundamentals, experience with large-scale storage environments, and solid troubleshooting expertise across OS, network, and storage layers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support storage‑focused software solutions using Python or Perl.
  
• Work on storage architecture components including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI, NFS, CIFS, POSIX, and Object Storage.
  
• Develop tools, scripts, and automation for storage operations and diagnostics.
  
• Support SDLC best practices across large, enterprise-grade software projects.
  
• Troubleshoot complex issues across OS, network, and storage layers.
  
• Collaborate with engineering teams on performance, scalability, and capacity planning.
  
• Work with enterprise UNIX (RHEL), Windows Server, containers (OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud platforms as needed.
  
• Participate in system design discussions and storage architecture reviews.
  
• Optimize and tune storage systems including RAID, Erasure Coding, SAS/SATA/Flash-based environments.
  
• Support distributed/scale-out storage systems and file system operations.
  
  

Required Skills and Qualification

• 7–10 years of experience in storage engineering or related domains.
  
• Strong programming experience in Python, Perl, or similar languages.
  
• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and software development lifecycle.
  
• Knowledge of object‑oriented concepts, SQL programming, and database fundamentals.
  
• Hands-on experience with storage technologies:
  
• Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI
  
• NFS, CIFS, POSIX
  
• Object storage and file systems
  
• SAS, SATA, NVMe, SSD
  
• RAID, Erasure Coding
  
• Understanding of client/server and scale-out architectures.
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, network, and storage.
  
  

Good to have Skills

• Experience with enterprise systems such as UNIX/RHEL, Windows Server, containers (Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  
• Familiarity with large-scale, distributed storage systems and high-availability methods.
  
• Experience with storage vendor technologies:
  
• NetApp, IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS), HDS, EMC Atmos, Veritas Storage Foundation, Engenio.
  
• Sybase, DB2 (database integration knowledge).
  
• Understanding of virtualization, performance tuning, and capacity management.
  
• Experience with monitoring, diagnostics, or automation for storage environments.
  
• Knowledge of networking protocols and connectivity.
