Backup and Storage Engineer

Job Description
- Storage Management Manage and support EMC Unity Storage 400H 550F and Dell Unity platforms
- Administer Pure Storage arrays including provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Perform LUN creation, expansion, migration, replication, and snapshot management
- Monitor storage performance, health, and utilization; proactively address issues
- Execute firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities
- Backup Recovery Manage HP StoreOnce backup appliances and associated backup policies Ensure reliable backup operations, replication, and disaster recovery readiness
- Perform regular restore tests and support recovery during incidents
- Optimize backup performance, retention, and storage efficiency SAN Connectivity
- Configure and manage SAN switches zoning, masking, multipathing Troubleshoot SAN connectivity, latency, and failover issues
- Coordinate with server, virtualization, and application teams for end-to-end storage support
- Operations Support Handle L2/L3 storage and backup incidents, problems, and change activities
- Participate in on-call rotations and support planned unplanned maintenance
- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and architecture diagrams
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and data protection standards
Required Skills
- Experience Strong hands-on experience with: EMC Unity Storage 400H 550F Pure Storage HP StoreOnce Dell Unity HP SMA
- Storage Management SAN switches Brocade Cisco preferred
- Solid understanding of SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and multipathing
- Experience supporting virtualized environments VMware preferred Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience working in ITIL-based operational environments
Good to Have
- Experience with DR planning and execution Storage or vendor certifications Dell EMC, Pure, HPE
- Exposure to automation scripting PowerShell, CLI Experience in large enterprise or data center environments
