Responsibilities
- Collaboration and Leadership: Foster collaboration outside the organization, leading cross-team initiatives and engagements with external partners, clients, or industry groups to drive innovation and mutually beneficial technical advances.
- Take the lead in driving cross-team initiatives, leveraging technical expertise and leadership to foster cooperation and shared success across diverse teams and projects within the organization and, where appropriate, with external entities.
- Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning. Acting as the technical subject matter expert. Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems.
- Roughly 60% hands-on coding, builds effective internal and external relationships that are essential to delivering a quality software product or service. Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions. Subject matter expert on web technologies. Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users. Ability to take a vague customer problem and solve it end to end with accountability
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience
- 10+ years total experience delivering enterprise class web applications.
- 5+ years of experience in design and implementation of robust and highly scalable services
- Practical experience in microservices & messaging technologies (REST, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Kafka, ActiveMQ)
- Solid foundation in writing scalable web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization and instrumentation.
- Proven hands-on experience working with AI/ML models, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and building/deploying intelligent AI agents.
- Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web and mobile.
- Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns.
- 7+ Experience in mid-tier like Node and Java
- Experience with test automation: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing.
- Experience with Relational Database Design and Implementation
- Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development.
- Passionate about CI/CD pipelines
- Be able to mentor junior developers within the team
