Job Description
Senior IT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting data transformation and migration solutions for SAP ERP deployment programs. This role ensures the successful execution of established data migration processes, provides technical leadership, champions data engineering best practices, and collaborates closely with functional teams, co-source partners, and project stakeholders. The
Senior IT Engineer will translate Global Data Management (GDM) requirements into robust technical solutions and directly support multiple SAP implementation initiatives.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Data Migration Strategy & Execution
- Enforce standardized development methodologies and best practices for all data migration activities.
- Collaborate with Data Leads across deployment teams to align and maintain data migration schedules.
- Apply and enforce the Data Management Operating System (MOS) to ensure consistent execution of data migration and transition processes into SAP ERP.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting of data migration metrics, dashboards, and status updates.
- Partner with functional Centers of Excellence (COEs) and extended data stakeholders to define and implement best-in-class data solutions.
- Support the Data Management organization in reinforcing data quality standards and processes across ERP deployments and enhancement projects.
- Deliver tasks related to the analysis, design, development, and implementation of data migration components in alignment with SLA requirements.
- Work with cross-functional data teams to create and maintain standardized mapping documents.
- Research, evaluate, and propose alternative technical approaches to solve complex data challenges, from small enhancements to high‑complexity, large‑scale migration initiatives.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while adapting to varying project requirements.
- Provide mentorship, training, and change management leadership to promote adoption of new data tools, methodologies, and capabilities.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Integration / Data Migration, including full lifecycle implementations for large and complex SAP ERP projects.
- 6+ years of functional exposure to SAP applications, including understanding of configuration, tables, structures, and data rule definitions.
- 6+ years of experience with Informatica tools:
- PowerCenter
- Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
- 6+ years of Oracle SQL or equivalent database development experience.
- 2+ years of scripting experience (Shell scripting, Python, or similar).
- Working knowledge or exposure to AI/ML capabilities or advanced analytics tooling.
