To strengthen our electronics and system development capabilities, we are looking for a: Senior Electronics Design Engineer – Solar & IoT Systems (m/f/d) This is a senior, hands-on engineering role with responsibility across the complete electronics hardware lifecycle — from architecture and design through validation, certification, and production support. 

Role Description

As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you will design, develop, and industrialize control and power electronics for solar street lighting, PV-based systems, and IoT-enabled smart infrastructure. You will work closely with firmware, system, and mechanical teams in India and Austria to deliver reliable, high-performance products for global deployment. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Electronics Design & Development • Define system and electronics architecture for solar lighting and IoT products. • Design, simulate, and develop high-efficiency power and control electronics, including DC/DC converters and power stages (up to 1000 W). • Schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, bring-up, and validation of electronics hardware. • Hands-on debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of hardware issues. Embedded & Communication Interfaces • Develop and integrate communication interfaces such as DALI, RS-485, CAN, LoRa, NB IoT, SPI, I²C. • Collaborate closely with firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless hardware f irmware integration. • Support IoT device integration for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and control. Industrialization, Testing & Certification • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure component quality, cost optimization, and production readiness. • Support EMI/EMC testing, compliance, and troubleshooting. • Drive product certification activities (including BIS and other international standards). • Support pilot builds, production testing, and field feedback resolution. Research & Continuous Improvement • Participate in R&D and applied research projects related to solar energy, power electronics, and smart city solutions. • Stay updated with emerging technologies in power electronics, IoT, and communication systems. PCB & Electronics Design: Altium Designer, Pulsonix, Eagle (or equivalent) • Simulation & Debug: SPICE-based tools, lab instrumentation, debugging tools • Communication Protocols: DALI, RS-485, CAN, LoRa, NB-IoT, SPI, I²C • Familiarity with production test setups and certification environments is an advantage

Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech / equivalent degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline. • 5+ years of professional experience in end-to-end electronics hardware development. • Strong expertise in power electronics, including high-efficiency DC/DC converter design. • Proven experience with system architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, and validation. • Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing and compliance-driven product development. • Working knowledge of battery systems and battery management systems (BMS). • Basic to intermediate understanding of embedded firmware concepts. • Structured, independent working style with strong problem-solving ability. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. • Strong team orientation and ability to work in international, cross-functional teams.
