Job Summary

As Sr Director, Legal, India & South Asia at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you have a chance to define a major impact while heading the legal and Compliance team. You will guide all legal and compliance affairs locally, in collaboration with global and APAC teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal support to ensure business goals are achieved with minimal legal risk.
  • Lead the drafting, reviewing, and conclusion of various legal documents.
  • Drive compliance efforts and transparency on higher risk areas like anti-corruption and competition law.
  • Handle Corporate Secretarial duties for all legal entities within the region.
  • Develop strong working relationships with regional, APAC, and Global teams.
  • Implement an annual operating plan, including staffing plans and budget.
  • Deliver legal awareness training and proactive legal support for assigned projects.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university/law school.
  • Over 18 years of experience as a qualified legal practitioner in India.
  • Validated experience preferably representing healthcare/life science or other regulated-sector companies within a multinational company in-house legal department and/or an international law firm.
  • Excellent business sense with strong judgment and influencing skills.
  • Practical process development and solution implementation experience.
  • Experience in people management with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel is estimated at less than 20%.
