About The Role

We are seeking a proactive Business Analyst with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team at Kanerika Inc. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting and documenting requirements, supporting project planning, and facilitating data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL and Power BI, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including stakeholders, developers, and QA personnel. The Business Analyst will contribute significantly to the successful delivery of projects by ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured and translated into functional specifications, thereby enabling seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; an MBA is preferred. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). A solid understanding of writing functional specifications, process flows, and stakeholder management is essential. Basic proficiency in SQL, including writing simple queries, joins, and filters, is required. Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization is also necessary. Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and documentation skills are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Business & Functional Analysis: Elicit and document business and functional requirements through stakeholder discussions, workshops, and research to ensure clear understanding and alignment.
  • Functional Specifications: Draft Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), use cases, user stories with acceptance criteria, and system behavior documentation to facilitate development and testing.
  • SQL & Data Analysis: Use basic SQL to query data for validation, analysis, and stakeholder insights. Collaborate with developers and data teams to ensure accurate data mapping and integrity.
  • Power BI Support: Assist in building or reviewing dashboards, validate data outputs, and support business stakeholders in leveraging BI reports for strategic decision-making.
  • Project Planning Assistance: Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, prioritize features, track milestones, and update project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and QA to ensure shared understanding, manage expectations, and facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies within existing processes and propose improvements based on data-backed insights and process mapping techniques.
  • Testing & UAT: Prepare detailed test cases, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure that deliverables meet business requirements and quality standards.
