Specialist - Packet Core

Cradlepoint is seeking a highly experienced Specialist - Packet Core to join our team. This role is responsible for handling Packet Core Network Operations, maintaining service availability for PCN nodes, and providing expert focus on supporting hardware, software, and configuration-related issues. You will be crucial in the configuration of all nodes pertaining to PCN domains and providing emergency handling/outage support for PCN nodes, products, and the network.

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a smooth operation of the GSM/UMTS/LTE/VO-LTE specific Packet Core Network.
• Be an integral part of a team focusing on PCN Network activities associated with Mobile GSM/UMTS/LTE/VO-LTE Networks.
• Be responsible for Administrating Packet Core Network (PCN) and Support Systems.
• Be responsible for executing planned Maintenance activities (e.g., Health Checks, Backups).
• Be responsible for problem Escalations and Follow-ups (CSR), ensuring timely resolution.
• Be responsible for Performance Analysis & Investigation to optimize network efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with Customers, 3rd Party Providers (3PP), and various Cradlepoint Departments.
• Ensure smooth and high-quality system/service handover from Project teams.
• Fix/find faults and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for configuration, hardware, and software issues.

Required Qualifications

• Education: BE/B.Tech.
• Minimum years of relevant experience: Min 10+ years.
• A consistent track record of success, with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in a large-sized technical team within a customer service environment.
• Strong knowledge of key protocols: GSM, SS7, Sigtran, TCP/IP, S1AP, RANAP, SCCP, SCTP, Iu-PS, BSSGP, GTP, and Diameter protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating system.
• Familiarity with Packet Core Nodes from various vendors, including:
• Huawei packet core nodes: SGSN, GGSN, SGW, PGW, MME.
• Ericsson Packet Core Nodes: SGSN-MME & EPG-SSR.
• Experience with Gn/Gp DNS, ISP DNS, and Wireshark for network analysis.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux.
• Packet Core domain/vendor specific certifications will be an additional advantage.
