Job Description: Solution Architect Retail
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong Retail domain expertise and proven client-facing and pre-sales skills to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions for large retail enterprises. The role spans solution architecture, deal shaping, and end-to-end delivery ownership, bridging business strategy, technology architecture, and execution across omnichannel retail ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
- Lead end-to-end solutioning during pre-sales, including discovery, architecture definition, scope, assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
- Drive RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, effort estimation, and technical presentations in partnership with sales teams.
- Present solution architectures, roadmaps, and value propositions to senior client stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor, leading client workshops and architecture discussions.
Retail Solution Architecture
- Define end-to-end architectures across POS, OMS, WMS, ERP, e-commerce, loyalty, pricing, promotions, CRM, and analytics platforms.
- Design scalable, cloud-native, omnichannel solutions using API-led, event-driven, and microservices-based architectures.
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, resilience, and compliance.
Delivery Ownership & Architecture Governance
- Own the architecture from pre-sales through delivery, ensuring alignment between proposed solutions and implementation.
- Lead solution handover to delivery teams with clear design intent, assumptions, and constraints.
- Provide architectural oversight during implementation, design reviews, and change management.
- Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring quality and delivery confidence.
Data & Analytics Enablement
- Define data and analytics architectures enabling real-time inventory visibility, customer insights, personalization, and demand forecasting.
- Support advanced use cases such as recommendations, pricing intelligence, and demand sensing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 1015 years of IT experience with 5+ years as a Solution Architect in Retail engagements.
- Proven experience in pre-sales, client-facing roles, and delivery ownership.
- Strong hands-on experience with retail systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in large-scale retail or omnichannel transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration, data, and analytics architectures.
- Experience working in IT services or consulting environments.
