Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, and identifying software defects before production releases. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for advocating for the end-user experience.
Qualifications
Test Planning & Design: Review system requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases.
Test Execution: Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance tests (both manual and automated) to validate software functionality against business requirements.
Defect Tracking: Identify, isolate, and document clear and reproducible bug reports using issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Follow up on defect resolution and perform verification testing.
Automation Development: Build and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API endpoints to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to understand new features, provide feedback on testability, and resolve issues collaboratively.
Quality Advocacy: Champion quality assurance best practices across the development lifecycle and contribute to continuous improvement in testing processes.
Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.
QA Methodologies: Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes (e.g., Agile/Scrum, SDLC, STLC).
Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools and test management software.
API Testing: Experience testing web services and APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger.
Basic Automation: Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium).
Scripting/Programming: Basic understanding of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Java, or JavaScript) for writing automated tests.
