Job Description

The PTX Series Routers Packet Forwarding team is responsible for building high-performance packet forwarding software that powers large-scale public cloud, service provider, and mobile networks. This role focuses on designing, developing, and sustaining scalable forwarding solutions deployed globally on routers and switches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop packet forwarding features for PTX Series Routers
  • Implement networking protocols and features including IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, Multicast, GRE, LAG, and tunneling
  • Translate product requirements into software design and implementation
  • Work closely with testing teams to ensure feature quality and reliability
  • Support and sustain existing packet forwarding features
  • Engage with customers and participate in relevant industry forums

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience
  • Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Strong experience in C programming with hands-on development exposure
  • Working experience in C++ for systems-level software
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and operating systems
  • Practical experience with Linux environments and Python scripting
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
