Software Dev Engineer - C++, Networking

The Software Development Engineer will design, develop, and maintain control plane software for next-generation networking platforms based on JUNOS Evolved infrastructure. The role involves building high-performance, reliable system software components for routers and switches, working on complex networking and operating system challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Software Design & Development

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug control plane software for networking platforms.
• Build system-level software components for routers, switches, and networking infrastructure.
• Implement enhancements and new features in C/C++ for large-scale, high-performance systems.

Systems & Platform Engineering

• Develop software on Linux-based platforms with strong interaction with operating system services.
• Apply data structures and algorithms to solve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• Ensure software compatibility with hardware platforms and influence system-level design decisions.

Problem Solving & Optimization

• Analyze complex technical problems and propose efficient design alternatives.
• Debug issues across system software layers including OS, networking stack, and platform services.
• Improve stability and performance of distributed networking systems.

Team & Technical Leadership

• Act as a technical contributor or project lead for assigned components.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers within the team.
• Participate in design discussions and technical reviews for platform evolution.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 69 years of experience in system or networking software development.
