Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Core Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 10+ years of hands-on experience in core banking systems and banking operations. The SME will provide deep functional expertise, support large-scale transformation programs, and act as a key liaison between business, technology, and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation, enhancement, and support of core banking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as functional SME for Core Banking systems and banking processes
- Provide expert guidance on end-to-end core banking operations and workflows
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate requirements
- Translate business requirements into functional scenarios and test cases
- Support core banking implementations, upgrades, migrations, and regulatory changes
- Conduct impact analysis for product enhancements and system changes
- Support system integration, data migration, and interface design initiatives
- Provide functional support during testing phases (SIT, UAT, regression)
- Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution
- Support production issues, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Mentor junior team members and provide knowledge transfer
Core Banking Functional Expertise
- Customer Information File (CIF), CASA (Savings, Current, Term Deposits)
- Loans & Advances (Retail & Corporate), Interest, Charges & Fees
- Payments, Clearing & Settlement
- General Ledger (GL) & Accounting
- End-of-Day (EOD) and Batch Processing
- Limits, Collateral, and Credit Management
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Core Banking domain
- Strong understanding of banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Hands-on experience with one or more core banking platforms
- Proven experience in core banking transformation or large implementation programs
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Business, IT, Vendors)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in Agile / Waterfall delivery models
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with popular core banking platforms such as:
- Finacle/Temenos T24 / Transact/Oracle Flexcube/Ethix Core Banking
- Exposure to payments (SWIFT, ISO 20022) and digital banking integrations
- Experience in data migration and reconciliation activities
- Banking or domain certifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
- MBA or Banking certifications are an advantage
