Site Incharge Solar (O&M)
Level: Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer
Location: Charanka (GJ) / Gulbarga (KA) / Solapur (MH) / Khandwa (MP)
Role Purpose
To lead end-to-end operations & maintenance (O&M) of a 1520 MW ground-mounted solar power plant, ensuring optimal plant performance, high availability, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations & Maintenance
- Manage complete O&M activities of the solar plant including inverters, SCBs, transformers, and evacuation systems
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
- Ensure maximum uptime and adherence to PR, CUF, and availability targets
- Drive module cleaning strategies to optimize generation
2. Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor plant performance through SCADA and analytics tools
- Analyze generation data (daily/monthly/yearly) to identify underperformance
- Implement corrective actions to improve plant efficiency and output
- Track and improve MTTR / MTBF
3. Team & Site Management
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians
- Prepare and execute daily/weekly/monthly work plans
- Ensure productivity, discipline, and capability development of site team
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and service vendors for maintenance and repairs
- Ensure timely availability of spares and inventory management
- Support audits, inspections, and stakeholder visits
5. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review MIS reports, generation reports, and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and grid requirements
- Conduct JMR (Joint Meter Readings) and support billing processes
6. Cost & Asset Management
- Optimize O&M cost through data-driven decision making
- Monitor and control site budgets and resource utilization
- Drive initiatives for cost reduction and operational efficiency
7. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and standards
- Close all audit observations and non-conformities (NCs)
- Promote a strong safety culture at site
8. Project Handover & Site Setup (Important for New Sites)
- Lead site mobilization and plant handover/takeover from EPC
- Ensure readiness of systems, documentation, and team during site commissioning
- Establish O&M processes for newly operational plants
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- B.Tech / BE in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics (Mandatory)
Experience
- 7-9 years (Sr. Engineer) / 8-12 years (Assistant Manager)
- Hands-on experience in solar plant O&M (10+ MW plants)
- Experience as Site Incharge / Plant Lead preferred
Nice to Have
- Electrical Supervisor License
