Qualification
B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in chemical manufacturing, process plants, or continuous process industries.
Experience in handling plant operations, process monitoring, and safety compliance will be preferred.
Age Criteria :25-27 years
Compensation: CTC: Up to 12 LPA(depending on experience, skills, and interview performance)
Job Summary
The Shift Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising chemical plant operations during the assigned shift. The role includes ensuring smooth plant functioning, maintaining process parameters, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. The Shift Engineer will coordinate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to maintain uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Operations Management
Monitor and control chemical process operations during the assigned shift.
Ensure smooth functioning of plant equipment and process units.
Maintain production targets as per the plant's operational plan.
Handle start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting of process units.
- Process Monitoring Optimization
Monitor critical process parameters such astemperature, pressure, flow rate, and chemical composition.
Analyze process deviations and implement corrective actions.
Work towards improving process efficiency and reducing operational losses.
Supervise shift operators, technicians, and field staff.
Allocate work responsibilities to team members during the shift.
Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to operational procedures.
Ensure strict compliance withplant safety standards, SOPs, and statutory regulations.
Conduct safety checks and ensure proper use of PPE.
Report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ensure timely reporting of equipment abnormalities.
Assist in equipment inspection and maintenance activities.
Maintain accurateshift reports, log sheets, and operational records.
Record production data, process parameters, and operational observations.
Provide proper shift handover details to the next shift engineer.
Ensure product quality meets company standards and specifications.
Coordinate with the quality control team for sampling and analysis.
Implement corrective actions in case of quality deviations.
