Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM, with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise CMDB while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accurate and reliable Configuration Item (CI) data.
• Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery, including MID Servers, Probes, Patterns, Sensors, and credential management for automated CI population.
• Implement and enforce CMDB governance, naming conventions, and data quality standards.
• Perform CMDB reconciliation, audits, and health assessments to maintain trusted configuration data.
• Lead and support Service Mapping initiatives to build and maintain application dependency maps.
• Configure and support ITOM capabilities, including Discovery, Event Management, Orchestration, and Cloud Discovery.
• Integrate CMDB with enterprise monitoring tools, cloud platforms, and external data sources.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and platform teams to ensure accurate CI relationships and service models.
• Monitor CMDB health, coverage, compliance, and data quality metrics, and drive continuous improvements.
• Support Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes through accurate CMDB data.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.

Required Skills

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in ServiceNow with strong expertise in CMDB and ITOM.
• Hands-on experience in CMDB design, governance, CI lifecycle management, and relationship mapping.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, including MID Servers, Probes, Patterns, Sensors, and credential management.
• Experience with Service Mapping and dependency mapping across enterprise applications.
• Good understanding of ITOM modules such as Event Management, Orchestration, and Cloud Discovery.
• Experience with CMDB Health, data reconciliation, normalization, and governance.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
• Experience integrating CMDB with monitoring tools, infrastructure platforms, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, REST APIs, PowerShell, or automation for CMDB and Discovery customization.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
