Role Overview
We seek an experienced SEO Manager to lead and scale our organic search strategy across all digital properties. This role demands a strategic leader to develop comprehensive SEO roadmaps, manage on-page, off-page, and technical SEO execution, and drive measurable growth in qualified organic traffic, rankings, and conversions. The SEO Manager collaborates closely with Content, Performance Marketing, Product/Engineering, and Leadership teams to align initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and own an end-to-end SEO strategy aligned with business goals and revenue targets.
- Build quarterly/annual SEO roadmaps with milestones, resource allocation, and success metrics.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Content, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
- Present performance insights, forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Execution & Optimization
- Plan/execute SEO strategies across on-page, off-page, and technical pillars to boost rankings and organic acquisition.
- Conduct advanced keyword research (head, long-tail, intent-based) and competitive intelligence for growth opportunities.
- Optimize on-page elements: metadata, headings, internal linking, schema markup, content structure, E-E-A-T signals.
- Perform technical SEO audits (crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonicalization, structured data, XML sitemaps) and coordinate developer fixes.
- Build/manage a clean, high-quality backlink profile via ethical link building, digital PR, partnerships, and outreach.
AI-Powered Search Optimisation (AEO/GEO/AIO)
- Optimize content for AI-driven platforms (Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, answer engines, generative AI).
- Structure content for direct, concise answers matching natural language processing and modern search behaviors.
- Implement answer-first strategies; optimize for featured snippets, AI Overviews, and voice search.
- Enhance with citations, authoritative quotes, and statistical data for credibility in AI responses.
- Apply schema markup (FAQ, HowTo, Organisation, Product, Service) for AI understanding/indexability.
- Develop persona-specific, long-tail content at scale (use cases, constraints, pricing, integrations, implementation).
- Monitor/optimize compressed buyer journeys in AI search (single-interaction research).
Analytics & Performance Management
- Monitor/analyze performance via Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports with actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Track/optimize organic-to-lead conversion funnels.
- Conduct A/B testing on titles, meta descriptions, content formats, and landing pages.
Content & SEO Collaboration
- Collaborate with Content teams on SEO briefs, blog/service page optimization, and content freshness per SERP trends/user intent.
- Guide content strategy via search intent, SERP features, and topical authority.
- Ensure E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) compliance.
Specialised SEO Initiatives
- Lead Local SEO: Google Business Profile, NAP consistency, local citations.
- Oversee International SEO: hreflang, geo-targeting, multi-market strategies.
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates/trends; adjust strategies, test new approaches.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Growth in qualified non-brand organic sessions/leads/MQLs.
- Keyword ranking improvements (top-3 for priority terms).
- CTR, dwell time, and conversion rate increase from organic traffic.
- Technical health: fewer crawl errors, better index coverage, and higher Core Web Vitals pass rates.
- Backlink profile: higher authority/relevance, lower toxicity.
- Organic contribution to revenue/pipeline.
- Visibility/citation rates in AI answer engines/generative platforms.
- Featured snippet/AI Overview capture rates.
Eligibility
Must-Have
- 6 - 8 years proven SEO experience scaling organic traffic/rankings.
- 2+ years of managerial/team leadership guiding strategy/execution.
- Deep knowledge of algorithms, ranking factors, and modern best practices.
- Expert in: Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz.
- Strong technical skills: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, website architecture for issue diagnosis/resolution.
- Advanced analytics to interpret data into strategies.
- Excellent communication/stakeholder management for cross-functional teams.
- CMS experience (WordPress, Webflow); site architecture/UX for SEO.
- Working knowledge of AEO/GEO/AIO; content optimization for AI platforms/answer engines.
Preferred
- Bachelor's/Master's in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related.
- SaaS, B2B, immigration/visa/legal services experience.
- Success in Local/International SEO, Core Web Vitals, and backlink risk assessment.
- Python/SQL for SEO automation/data analysis.
- CRO/landing page testing experience.
- Google Analytics/SEO/Digital Marketing certifications.
- Structured data/schema for answer engines.
- Track record improving AI response/featured snippet visibility.
