Position Objectives
- Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process across digital products, ensuring visually compelling, intuitive, and user-centred experiences
- Drive design decisions by translating user research findings and business goals into practical, impactful design solutions
- Champion user-centred design principles across cross-functional teams, embedding best practices into every stage of product development
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a unified design system that ensures consistency and coherence across all digital touchpoints
- Collaborate effectively with product, development, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless digital experiences
Job Description and Responsibilities
- User Research: Conduct thorough user research, including interviews, surveys, and behavioural analysis to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points, and translate findings into informed design decisions
- Synthesise research insights into personas, journey maps, and design briefs to guide the design process
- User Interface Design: Create visually stunning and intuitive user interfaces for digital products, maintaining a consistent and cohesive visual language across platforms
- Ensure all UI designs meet brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and platform requirements
- User Experience Design: Design and optimise end-to-end user experiences with a focus on usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction
- Map and refine user flows, interaction models, and information architecture to reduce friction and improve engagement
- Prototyping: Develop interactive prototypes to illustrate and validate design concepts, gathering stakeholder and user feedback for iterative improvements
- Use prototypes to facilitate design reviews, stakeholder presentations, and usability testing sessions
- Wireframing & Mockups: Produce detailed wireframes, mockups, and design specifications that provide clear direction for development teams
- Ensure design handoff documentation is thorough, accurate, and developer-friendly
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design solutions against real user behaviour and expectations
- Analyse testing outcomes and translate findings into actionable design refinements
- Design Systems: Contribute to the creation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of design systems to ensure scalability and consistency across all products
- Advocate for design system adoption across cross-functional teams
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between design decisions and business objectives
- Provide informal guidance to junior designers when needed, sharing knowledge and best practices
- Communicate design concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Stay Updated: Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging design tools, and evolving best practices, proactively incorporating relevant innovations into the design process
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse digital design projects
- Strong portfolio demonstrating depth of craft, user-centred thinking, and tangible impact on product experience
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent
- Solid experience with prototyping tools such as InVision, Axure, Marvel, or Figma prototyping
- Deep understanding of user-centred design principles, design thinking methodologies, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and innovative approach to complex design challenges
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions to diverse stakeholders
- Experience contributing to design systems in a multi-product environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving project requirements, and deliver under deadline pressure
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts, such as HTML and CSS, to facilitate effective collaboration with development teams, is an advantage
