Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of UAV systems (multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOLs, etc.)
- Perform end-to-end system integration and testing across hardware and software components.
- Integrate and configure flight controllers, companion computers, and sensors to ensure reliable and precise UAV operation.
- Leverage ROS2 for advanced UAV autonomy, inter-system communication, and development workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to define project requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers or interns and contribute to team development.
- Maintain detailed project/process documentation, including design specs, testing logs, flight data, and performance reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in UAV R&D, system integration, and field testing.
- Proven experience in UAV piloting, both autonomous and manual, across various platforms and environments.
- Extensive experience with flight control firmware (Ardupilot, PX4, Betaflight, INAV) and flight controller hardware (PX4 Cube Pilot, Matek, SpeedyBee, Holybro, and similar).
- Strong knowledge of UAV system integration, payload integration and testing, RF communications, and sensor fusion.
- Experience with ground control software such as QGC, Mission Planner, and Foxglove.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB and/or C++ for UAV software development and automation.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo, SITL, or similar environments for testing and validation.
- Experience with companion computer integration and ROS2-based control and development.
- Familiarity with UAV regulations and compliance standards (DGCA or equivalent).
- Ability to manage end-to-end UAV projects independently, from concept to field deployment.
