The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing a team of professionals in completing multiple large and complex IT projects by a set deadline to uphold business initiatives. They will be required to perform vendor and contract management during the planning and implementation of projects.
Job Duties
- Provides project-based leadership for the justification, planning, implementation, and quality assurance testing of assigned projects
- Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes project progress
- Builds and maintains constructive working relationships with project team members, vendors and other departments involved with assigned projects
- Develops scope documents, statements of work and other documentation supporting the justification for assigned project
- Leads and directs the work of project teams to ensure project efforts are controlled and completed on a timely basis
- Collaborates with appropriate subject matter experts, establishes resource plans, expected level of effort and duration to complete tasks associated with assigned projects
- Applies BDO Project Management Offices methodologies
- Adheres to BDO and department policies and procedures
- Manages and administers other areas, including but not limited to telecommunications ordering and billing functions, as requested
- Develops and manages all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
- Assists with project priorities and alignment with direct management
- Assists with forecasting portfolio outlined by direct management
- Acts as an internal quality control check for projects as outlined by direct management
- Manages ongoing quality control and participates in quality issue resolution for portfolio, as outlined by direct management
- Participates and/or drives National vendors selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directs others as part of the project management process, as needed; however, does not have any direct reports
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the Technical Project Management team members as requested
- Provides input to management on annual performance reviews of team members as requested
- Provides feedback to management on areas for improvement
- Coaches and mentors Technical Project Management team members
- Sets and manages project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
- High School diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field preferred
Experience:
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in project management, required
License/Certifications:
- PMP Certification, preferred
Software:
- ServiceNow, preferred
- Microsoft Visio, preferred
- Sharepoint, preferred
- MS Teams, preferred
- Adobe Acrobat Professional, preferred
