Senior Should Cost Engineer-Electro Mechanical

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8 to 10 yrs.

Min 3-4 years of electrical Switch gear industry experience is required; rest of experience can be on any specific. Majorly on small size parts.

 The Senior Should Costing Engineer is responsible for end-to-end cost estimation of products, subassemblies, and components, primarily within electro-mechanical domains.

LOCATION: Bangalore

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•             Ability to Interpret drawing per customer specification, to understand customer requirement.

•             Creating a BOM from the Physical sample with clear assembly levels from teardown analysis.

•             Knowledge of Competitive Bench Marking, tear down analysis to generate cost saving ideas and build pipeline.

•             Collect and analyze data to estimate costs related to labor, materials, overhead, and other operational expenses.

•             Estimate production, qualification, and tooling costs, recommend alternativeness and improvements

•             Estimating and validating the cost for selected geographies.

•             Identify cost drivers to achieve target costing.

•             Conduct ongoing cost analyses and provide detailed reports to management & collaborate with various departments to compile and interpret cost data.

•             Perform cost variance analysis, comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.

•             Assist in financial planning and forecasting activities.

•             KPIs include BOM savings, procurement strategy for new products, and productivity improvements with stakeholders

•             Support all NPIs, new cost saving ideas and new procurement processes.

SKILLS / COMPETENCE:

•             Expertise in sheet metal, plastics, and machining processes

•             Experience in cost productivity and value engineering initiatives

•             Strong expertise in product cost estimation and cost structures

•             Proficient in recommending process alternatives backed by detailed analysis

•             Should have experience for should costing for various mechanical commodities

•             Should have experienced in minimum two domains experience

•             Knowledge of any of the costing tools such as aPriori, DFMA, Excel based cost models, etc.  

•             Knowledge on CAD tools CATIA/ Siemens NX/ Creo/ Solid works.

•             Good knowledge on electrical products grade material properties, acceptance, packaging and surface coating solutions.

•             Knowledge in identifying the required acceptance tests and Qualification tests for a product.

•             Knowledge of logistics, supply chain operations, and localization strategies

•             Experience with digital cost platforms and sustainability-driven cost optimization
