Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Purchasing Engineer with strong expertise in procurement and production planning for oil & gas components. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of sourcing raw materials and forgings as per API 6A and API 16A standards. Familiarity with coating processes and their cost structures is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Source and procure raw materials, forgings, and machined components for oil & gas equipment in compliance with API 6A and API 16A standards
  • Develop and maintain a cost-effective, export-compliant vendor base, including forging suppliers, heat treatment, machining, and coating vendors
  • Conduct technical and commercial negotiations to achieve cost-effective purchasing
  • Ensure material compliance with specifications, certifications, and traceability requirements
  • Manage low-volume, high-mix procurement, typical of export orders
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and approvals of incoming materials
  • Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and vendor records

Coating Knowledge

  • Understand various coating and surface treatment processes such as anti-corrosion coatings, thermal spray, and painting
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities for coating processes
  • Estimate and control coating costs and ensure alignment with project budgets
  • Ensure coating processes meet industry and client specifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of API 6A and API 16A standards
  • Proven experience in procurement of forgings and raw materials for oil & gas components
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Knowledge of coating technologies and cost estimation
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Excel
