Senior Project Manager
In This Role, You Will
- It is a very exciting time to join the MSS Transformation team as we are currently delivering across a wide varity of initiatives in the MSS change portfolio. In this role you will:
- Project Delivery and Control: Shape and lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Utilise pragmatic application of programme management methodologies, including the use of a clearly defined delivery roadmap and robust financial and risk management strategies.
- Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation, underpinned by driving the embedding of Objectives and Key Results and alignment to Value Streams.
- Business Readiness: Work extensively with Product Owners, Tech teams, Front Office and Functions to identify tasks, define and document the implementation plan, ensuring business readiness activities are completed and required training delivered, ensuring compliance with mandatory and regulatory requirements.
- Process Design: Work extensively with Product Owners, Tech teams, Front Office and Functions to define and document interim and future state business processes and target operating model to support the day-to-day management of the MSS business, to enable the safe implementation of changes.
- Stakeholder Management: Lead the delivery through establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders. Responsible for building and maintaining key relationships with particular Divisions or Business Units. Provides day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
- Analyse project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met. Ensuring processes and agreed Ways of Working are in place to effectively oversee changes to the project. Challenge teams to deliver more, deliver creatively and to work with them to offset and address any challenges.
- Risk and Governance: Continuously evaluate projects for financial and people risk and regulatory compliance and take appropriate steps to mitigate. Create, implement and operate within an appropriate governance framework which aligns to the wider Group Governance framework and Change Framework Standards.
- Management Reporting: Create, track and report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate forums, management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan
To Be Successful You Will
- Minimum 8 years project management or change management experience, with Markets and Securities Services experience preferred.
- Management Consultancy experience or equivalent in house in a financial institution beneficial.
- Excellent project management analytical skills and task management skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environment, with the ability to implement best practices and uplift teams.
- Previous experience of delivering a large scale technology and/or front office change in a global team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines; operate as part of a team or independently as require; Ability to work flexibly and take responsibility for all areas of work as required.
- Proven track record in building trusted relationship and demonstrating the ability to influence across business/technology and at various levels.
- Experience using project management tools such as Confluence, Clarity, etc. required.
