This position is open to work with our sister concern Perkins&Will, a globally recognized, multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm headquartered in Chicago, USA. The firm provides integrated planning, design, and project management services across sectors including aviation, transportation, urban infrastructure, commercial, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise, ensuring alignment with firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, project management, execution, and Living Design.
  • Understands and responds effectively to technical implications, design decisions, and project financial objectives.
  • Leads and contributes to the development of project documentation, including the production of high-quality drawings and specifications.
  • Oversees Quality Control reviews at each project phase to ensure conformance with firm standards, contractual obligations, and design intent, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, legibility, completeness, and constructability.
  • Directs project Quality Assurance efforts and ensures adherence to Perkins&Will standards.
  • Accountable for effective project coordination across internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and collaboration with external consultants.
  • Communicates with clients on technical and project-related matters.
  • Oversees regulatory reviews, including building codes, accessibility, and zoning requirements, and manages coordination and submissions to authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Ensures effective and efficient team performance related to construction contract administration responsibilities.
  • Maintains awareness of evolving building technologies and engineering systems relevant to project work.
  • Contributes to project marketing efforts, including proposal development and participation in interviews.
  • Leads collaborative teams during design reviews, charrettes, and pin-ups.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, decision-making, and collaboration skills that inspire high-performing teams.
  • Mentors staff and provide oversight and guidance on project assignments.

  • Conceptual and computational modeling tools such as Rhino, including Grasshopper scripting

  • Adobe Creative Cloud, including presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Visualization tools such as Enscape, Lumion, and V-Ray
  • Physical modeling tools including 3D printing and laser cutting
  • Environmental analysis software such as Pollination (Ladybug) and Climate Studio

Licensure / Certifications / Education

  • LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) certification required within six months of hire
  • Professional accreditation in at least one Living Design discipline, such as:
  • LEED AP with Specialty
  • BREEAM AP
  • WELL AP
  • SITES AP
  • Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer (CPHC/CPHD)
  • ILFI Living Future Accreditation
  • Architectural license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related discipline required
