- Plans and conducts design and development engineering assignments involving projects of medium magnitude and scope.

- Technically supervises or coordinates the work of Engineers and Technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
- Delivers electrical designs from concept, to requirements, to design, to verification and validation, and to design transfer.
- Generates system or subsystem requirements.

- Conducts technical assessments and design reviews.
- Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
- Works independently and in cross-functional teams (both internal and external).
- Collaborates with Electrical Engineers and various other functions outside of R&D, both internal and external.
- Provides technical support for outside suppliers, vendors, and/or consultants as required, inclusive of supplier visits and identification / implementation of process improvements.
- May coordinate testing with outside testing laboratories (NRTL testing, environmental testing, HALT testing, etc)
- Uses general and complex engineering test equipment.
- Uses general hand and laboratory tools.
- Performs experiments or troubleshoots designs in laboratories.
- Understands electrical safety.
- Completes assigned role based training.
- Applies Fortive Business Systems tools, as required.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the manager of the role.
