We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 6–8 years of experience in electro-mechanical product development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing and packaging electronic systems including cameras, PCB assemblies, and industrial enclosures, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Electro-Mechanical Packaging
• Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies including:
• Develop robust enclosure designs meeting IP69K standards for harsh environments
• Ensure proper sealing strategies (gaskets, O-rings, adhesives, venting solutions)
Thermal Management & Simulation
• Design and validate thermal solutions for electronic systems including PCBs and GPUs
• Perform CFD and thermal simulations using:
• Analyze heat dissipation, airflow, and temperature distribution
• Correlate simulation results with physical testing and improve designs
• Work closely with electronics teams to ensure thermal reliability
Mechanical Design & Manufacturing
• Design parts and assemblies using:
• Apply DFM/DFA principles for cost-effective and manufacturable designs
• Select materials, finishes, and treatments based on environmental and functional requirements
PCB Integration & Assembly
• Define mechanical interfaces for PCB mounting and integration
• Ensure proper stack-up, grounding, shielding, and accessibility
• Collaborate with PCB design teams for layout constraints and enclosure fitment
Drawings & Documentation
• Create detailed 2D drawings with GD&T in accordance with standards
• Develop complete assembly instructions and work instructions
• Maintain BOMs, design documentation, and revision control
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Lead and participate in design discussions with:
• Drive design reviews and ensure closure of action items
• Communicate design intent clearly across teams
Validation & Testing
• Support prototype builds and validation testing
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement design improvements
• Ensure designs meet reliability, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 6–8 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design
• Strong experience in:
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / NX or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of:
Preferred Skills
• Experience with IP69K or similar high-ingress protection designs
• Exposure to simulation tools (thermal/structural)
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in enclosure design
• Experience in industries such as AgTech, Automotive, Robotics, or Industrial Equipment
Key Competencies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to drive design discussions and decisions
• Effective cross-functional communication
• Attention to detail and documentation rigor
• Ownership mindset with ability to work independently
Nice to Have
• Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing teams
• Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
• Hands-on experience in prototype builds and testing
